Meet Jeff
I am a life-long resident of Orem. I have grown up under the watchful eye of Mount Timpanogos. I grew up playing on Orem’s baseball diamonds, swimming at the Scera pool, playing on the tennis courts, hiking the trails, cycling the streets and attending the schools of
Orem. I met my beautiful wife Darla here. We are both Orem Tigers.
We both loved Orem so much that we decided that this is where we wanted to raise our family. We have 6 beautiful children, 3 girls and 3 boys. We are also the proud grandparents of 9 grandsons and 3 grand-daughters.
I was the President and CEO of a small business right here in Orem. Granite Publishing and Distribution. A company dedicated to producing and distributing products that are positive, uplifting and inspirational. We sold that business a few years ago. But I continue to strive to be positive, uplifting and inspirational. I currently work for a company in American Fork, Xlear (pronounced Clear) where I oversee the procurement and purchasing department.
Why I'm Running for Re-election
Lately, I have been asked if I will run for re-election to the Orem City Council. My answer is a resounding, "Absolutely!" I am truly grateful for the countless blessings that come with living in such an incredible community, and I feel compelled to give back to the place that has given me so much. I have cherished my time in public service and eagerly anticipate the opportunity to continue serving Orem.
As a lifelong resident, I have had the privilege of witnessing both the successes and challenges our city has faced. While we may face more struggles in the future, I remain confident that Orem's best days are ahead of us. I firmly believe in the power of collaboration with our community partners to build an even stronger Orem. Through open dialogue and cooperative efforts, we can find better solutions, even when we disagree or hold differing perspectives. Including more voices in our discussions will inevitably lead us to better outcomes.
As a member of the City Council, I will continue to bring a fresh perspective to our discussions, working collaboratively with fellow council members, city staff, and community partners to address the issues most important to our citizens. My commitment to transparency, accountability, and inclusivity remains steadfast.
In recent months, our city, like the rest of the nation, has faced a challenging season marked by contention and division. As I move forward with my campaign, I pledge to uphold the values of civility and respect that have always defined our great city. With the right leadership and vision, we can continue to build a vibrant, equitable, and sustainable Orem. I am dedicated to ensuring that our city is a place where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
I also remain committed to supporting our first responders, city staff, and employees - the backbone of our city - by working tirelessly to provide the resources and support they need to serve our community with distinction. I am honored to continue serving the people of Orem with integrity and respect, and I am eager to represent all our citizens in the pursuit of an even brighter future.
